The year 2023 was marked by a new beginning, it was a year of growth and exploration for us at Bwo that we gratefully shared with you. Highlighting the year was the inauguration of Bwo Art Gallery in Douala, Cameroon last September. In this short time, we had the privilege of exhibiting exceptional artists from across the African continent like Sesse ElangweZandile TshabalalaWilfried MbidaAyanfe Olarinde, and Laura Tolen, and fostering an international community that shares a profound passion for contemporary art. None of this would have been possible without you— esteemed collectors, artists, journalists and supporters.

As we step into the canvas of 2024, we are excited about the possibilities that lie ahead. Bwo is committed to bringing you more thought-provoking exhibitions starting this first quarter with Stephen Price’s first solo exhibition in Africa titled ‘I Wish I Could Be The Moonlight’, followed by the group exhibition ‘Where Dreams Are Born And Peace Restored’ which will feature new works by Emma PrempehElladj Lincy Deloumeaux and Araba Opoku.

As 2024 unfolds, we will announce other thrilling projects and collaborations involving artists like Merveille Kelekele Kelekele and Ayanfe Olarinde, that expand on our mission of harnessing the power of contemporary art to create a multiplicity of dialogues prioritizing cross-cultural exchanges between Cameroon and the rest of the world.

In the spirit of the New Year, we wish you a year filled with joy, prosperity, boundless creativity, and exciting new opportunities. Thank you for being an integral part of the Bwo family and dream. Your patronage and passion for art are the driving forces that propel us forward.

Here's to another year of shared artistic endeavors, meaningful connections, and the beauty that artists bring into our lives.

Warmest regards,
Noelle Mukete-Elhalaby and Brice Yonkeu
