Africa Supernova: Collection Carla & Pieter Schulting

The Kunsthal kAde museum in Amersfoort, Netherlands will open on 24 September 2023 a group exhibition titled 'Africa Supernova' in which Sesse Elangwe will be featured. 'Africa Supernova' is an extensive survey of contemporary African art featuring artworks by 125 artists from 33 African countries from the collection of Carla and Pieter Schulting.

A painting by Elangwe will be exhibited alongside notable, as well as promising, contemporary artists including: Aboudia (Ivory Coast), Joël Andrianomearisoa (Madagascar), Kwesi Botchway (Ghana), Marlene Dumas (South Africa), Sanaa Gateja (Uganda), Hassan Hajjaj (Egypt), Jean David Nkot (Cameroon), Abdoulaye Konaté (Mali), Joy Labinjo (Great Britain | Nigeria), Sungi Mlengeya (Tanzania), Zanele Muholi (South Africa), Kaloki Nyamai (Kenya), Ayanfe Olarinde (Nigeria), Godwin Champs Namuyimba (Uganda), Araba Opoku (Ghana), Otis Kwame Kye Quaicoe (Ghana), Barthélémy Toguo (Cameroon), Tschabalala Self (USA), Zandile Tshabalala (South Africa).

Another special highlight from this list is Nigerian artist Ayanfe Olarinde who will present a new body of work in a solo exhibition next Spring at Bwo.
