Bwo is a contemporary art gallery based in Douala, promoting the work of international visual artists of African descent, through a rich program of gallery exhibitions and off-site projects. We are currently recruiting an intern to join our team as a Community Manager (M/F) in August 2024.

 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION 

Working closely with our executive team, the CM will be in charge of managing and animating the gallery's social networks. As such, the CM will play a key role in Bwo's digital communications and online presence.

 

The intern will carry out various tasks which include: 

  • Implementing the communication strategy developed by the executive team;

  • Developing the gallery's visibility on social networks (Instagram, LinkedIn and Tiktok);

  • Overseeing the company's web presence (listening to feedback and the reputation of the company or its services);

  • Elaborating the communication strategy for social networks;

  • Planning and executing weekly and monthly publications schedules;

  • Producing video and photo contents related to the gallery's exhibitions and news;

  • Translating editorial content into English or French;

  • Creating and improving the SEO;

  • Uploading editorial content (editorial content, newsletter, etc.);

  • Moderating user comments and contributions; and

  • Technological survey to keep up-to-date on the new tools and social media on which the structure will have an interest in positioning itself.


Contract type: Internship

Location: Bonapriso, Douala

Work organization: Full-time (hybrid work possible)

Start date: as of August 16, 2024

Period: 3 to 6 months


APPLICANT’S  PROFILE

MANDATORY: 
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism or an equivalent field.

  • Excellent oral and writing skills in French and English


REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Strong writing skills

  • Great relationship skills

  • Proficiency in digital tools

  • Strong knowledge of IT tools, in particular the Office pack (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

  • Excellent understanding of video and photo editing software (Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Canva, etc.) 

  • Analytical skills
